Deafness Gene4Mutations Detection Kit is capable of screening known mutations related to hereditary hearing loss. It can help to identify hearing loss of the children, at birth, inherited from one parent or both who may or may not have a hearing loss themselves, so that educational programs that stimulate language function can begin as earlier as possible. It can also provide warning to avoid taking certain type of drugs, which are known to cause deafness in children carrying the gene mutations of susceptibility to the drugs. Furthermore, it can effectively reduce the birth of deaf children in whole society.In this thesis I studied the project feasibility analysis, the project planning, implementation and control and the result analysis related to the Deafness Gene Mutations Detection Kit project, applying the knowledge and methods regarding the planning and control in project management. Firstly the management background of this project was discribed. And then the feasibility of this project was analyzed with the market, technical and risk perspectives respectively. In schedule management the schedule of the project was prepared by using the work breakdown structure technology and the network-planning technique. Also a double-code network was drawn, the duration and start and end time and the critical path of every process and the total time of the project were determined. In the cost management, based on the resource schedule, the total budget of the project was estimated. It is better for cost management that the total budget was allocated to each process by using the work breakdown structure technology. The total time of the project was shortened through the progress optimization adopting several technical means and management skills. For the progress control and cost control of the project the step control have been implemented, that is the prior control, the in-progress control and the after control, and also the specific implementing measures for these controls were proposed. Finally, several safeguards for the project planning and control management were proposed so as to provide the effective resources for the management and to guarantee smooth implementation of the project. By application of the theories concerning project planning and control to the research and development of new products in this study the efficiency and success rate of the project was effectively improved. This study may provide abundant practical experiences in research and development of both technology and management for many enterprises.
