Objective: To observe the expression and distribution characteristics ofTNF-α and PGP9.5in cartilage endplate of patients with Posterior RingApophysis Separation; and provide a foundation for the study of themolecular pathology associated Posterior Ring Apophysis Separation. Methods: Research for endplate of the patients surgery for PosteriorRing Apophysis Separation in the orthopedic of Affiliated Hospital of NorthSichuan Medical between February2012to December2013.To compare andresearch the endplate organization samples from9operative treatmentpatients(have the symptom of low back pain over half a year) and4patientswith bursting fracture of vertebral body (Less than35years of age, surgery in2weeks after injury, and have no symptom of low back pain before injury andno protrusion of intervertebral disc before operation). The gender, age, medical history were recorded and to check whether they have protrusion ofintervertebral disc before operation. Immuohistochemical stainin the sectionsof these cartilage endplate and then observe the stained sections under lightmicroscope. Measure the optical density by the software Image-Pro Plus6.0and then do the statistical treatment for the results by the software SPSS16.0.The data for each group will be expressed in the form of average value±standard deviation (X±S) and be compared by Student’s t test.Results:①Collect13cartilage endplate samples (6for L4vertebral,5for L5vertebral and2for S1vertebral) from the9operative treatmentpatients(9men and11women with the average age at41.7,All patients aged from24to65,1patient admitted to a minor trauma history,7patients withlumbar disc herniation). Collect4cartilage endplate samples (2for L1vertebral and2for L3vertebral) from the4fracture patients (2men and2women,22<age <32, average25.7years old).②Cartilage endplate in patients of fracture with no obvious TNF-α andPGP9.5immunohistochemical staining.③Cartilage endplate near from separation have more TNF-α immunostainingpositive expression than that tissue away from separation.④Cartilage endplate near from separation have more PGP9.5immunostainingpositive expression than that tissue away from separation.Conclusion:①There is no TNF-α and PGP9.5in normal cartilageendplate tissues, it in the Posterior Ring Apophysis Separation.②Cartilage endplate near from separation have more TNF-α and PGP9.5thanthat tissue away from separation. The high expression of TNF-α and PGP9.5isclosely related to Posterior Ring Apophysis Separation.
