Objective: Using optical coherence tomography imaging depthenhancement technology(EDI-OCT)to scan macular region choroid of myopicpatients,and measure choroidal thickness.To research choroidal thicknessvariation in the macular region of low,moderate,and high myopic patients.AndTo study the differences of choroidal thickness in the macular region amonglow,moderate,and high myopic patients.To discuss how refractive errorinfluence the choroidal thickness of myopic patients.Methods: Controlled clinical studies.Select sixty eyes of sixty myopicpatients,and twenty eyes of healthy volunteers.The study subjects weredivided into four groups by refractive error,visual acuity and correctedvisualacuity.Group one was normal group(Emmetropic eyes,Visual acuitygreaterthan or equal to1.0),group two was low myopia group(refractiveerror lowerthan-3.0D,corrected visual acuity greater than or equal to1.0),group three wasmoderate myopia group(refractive error from-3.0D to-6.0D,corrected visualacuity greater than or equal to1.0),group four was high myopiagroup(refractive error over-6.0D,corrected visual acuity greater than or equalto0.8).Using Zeiss optical coherence tomography(CIRRUSHD-OCT)enhanced depth imaging technology to scan macular regionchoroideach group,and measure choroidal thickness.The scanning the macular region6mm through the fovea scan lines,0°and90°azimuth.Foveal and choroidalthickness were measured in the subfoveal and1000um,2000um the temporalnasal,superior,inferior position from the fovea.Analysischoroidal thickness ofdifferent position in the same group,and choroidalthickness in the sameposition among different groups.To discuss how refractive error influence thechoroidal thickness of myopic patients.using SPSS13.0statistical software toprocess data, the significance level of normality test and homogeneity of variance test was0.1,other various statistical analyzes are P<0.05wasconsidered statistically significant.Results:1Baseline clinical characteristics:Four groups in age,gender distributionand the distribution of the eye was no significant difference.2The results of choroidal thickness(Unit: μm)in each group displays:Choroidal thickness of the subfoveal and1000um,2000um of the temporal nasal,superior,inferior position from the fovea in normal group Respectively was360.00±11.96,310.75±28.04,287.22±38.23,287.10±25.10,260.33(59.42),308.50(39.67),288.83(63.75),292.72±26.7,272.67(54.25);choroidal thi-ckness of low myopia group Respectively was316.40±11.56,295.67(22.42),273.67(33.17),272.67(28.83),236.83±35.19,284.50(22.83),263.17(35.92),281.50(26.50),248.93±33.83;choroidal thickness of moderate myopia groupRespectively was273.31±26.60,234.97±36.90,219.25±37.01,201.83(69.17),171.55±43.43,222.95±32.60,200.33(82.17),214.67±33.05,186.67±42.77;choroidalthickness of high myopia group Respectively was230.40±35.74,183.67(49.08),181.33±41.71,169.23±35.55,148.93±40.08,188.62±34.53,172.08±38.12,156.00(55.17),194.67(88.08).3The analysis of choroidal thickness of different position in the samegroup display:Choroidal thickness difference of fovea and other positions inthe macular region,temporal1000μm and temporal2000μm,nasal1000μm andnasal2000μm,superior1000μm and superior2000μm,inferior1000μm andinferior2000μm,temporal1000μm and nasal1000μm,temporal1000μm andinferior1000μm,temporal2000μm and nasal2000μm, temporal2000μm andnasal2000μm in normal group was statistically significant(P<0.05),butchoroidal thickness difference of temporal1000μm and superior1000μm,nasal1000μm and superior1000μm,nasal1000μm and inferior1000μm,superior1000μm and inferior1000μm,temporal2000μm and superior2000μm,nasal2000μm and inferior2000μm,nasal2000μm and inferior2000μm,superior2000μm and inferior2000μm in normal group was statistically significant;Choroidal superior1000μm,temporal1000μm and and inferior1000μm,superior1000μm andnasal1000μm,nasal1000μm and inferior1000μm,superior1000μm and inferior1000μm,temporal2000μm and superior2000μm,nasal2000μm any two groups were statisticallysignificant(P<0.05);Choroidal thickness differences in temporal2000μmbetween any two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05);Choroidalthickness differences in nasal1000μm between any two groups werestatistically significant(P<0.05);In addition to choroidal thickness differencesnormal and low myopia group,was no statistically significant(P>0.05),between the rest either two was statistically significant(P<0.05);Choroidal thickness differences in superior1000μm between any twogroups were statistically significant (P<0.05);in addition to choroidalthickness differences normal and low myopia group,moderate myopia andhighmyopia group in superior2000μm was no statistically significant(P>0.05),between the rest either two was statisticallysignificant(P<0.05);Choroidal thickness differences in inferior1000μmbetween any two groups were statistically significant (P<0.05);in addition tochoroidal thicknessdifferences normal and low myopia group,moderatemyopia and high myopia group in inferior2000μm was no statisticallysignificant (P>0.05),between the rest either two was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The choroidal thickness of fovea is the thickest in themacular region,and gradually thinning to temporal,nasal,superior,inferior sidein normal group,the choroidal thickness of temporal side is thicker than nasalinferior side,the choroidal thickness of superior and inferior side is notdifferent;The choroidal thickness of fovea is the thickest in the macular regionin low,moderate,high myopia group,the choroidal thickness of temporal side is thicker than nasal side,the choroidal thickness of superior and inferior side isnot different,the changes of other positions is different. from normal group;Diopter effects the choroidal thickness of macular region, with the increasingof diopters, the choroidal thickness of macular region the gradual thinning.
