Follow-up Analysis Of Revision Of Total Hip Arthroplasty In19Cases

BackgroundWith the development of technology and improvement oftherapeutic level, total hip arthroplasty (THA) was more used fordifferent hip diseases, which caused large increased of revision of totalhip arthroplasty (RTHA). There are several reasons for RTHA, such asacetabulum bone defect, periprosthetic fractures, infection, dislocationand aseptic loosening. The clinical doctors should clarify the reason forRTHA, improve the operative skills and relieve the patients’ sufferings。ObjectiveIn order to evaluate the clinical effects of THA, we have collected19cases (19hips) which performed in department of China-Japan UnionHospital of Jilin university and the second Hospital of Jilin universityfrom December2009to November2013, and made clinical analysis andfollow-up analysis by using Harris score.DataWe collected19cases (19hips) who have been done the RTHA fromDecember2009to November2013in department of orthopedic of jilinuniversity. The average age was64.16years.9cases were left and10cases were right THA. MethodsAll the patients were treated by RTHA and the function of hip jointwas analyzed by Harris score. With the help of SPSS, compared thepreoperative of Harris score with postoperative follow-up, the clinicaleffects of RTHA were evaluated.ResultsThe average time of follow-up was11.57months (range from0.5months to48.4month). The preoperative average Harris score is19.34(range from0-47.3) and the postoperative average Harris score is78.56(range from40.3to98.45). The results of preoperative and postoperativescores have significantly improved (p<0.01). Among them,7hips were A(100-90),4hips were B (89-90),4hips were C (79-70),4hips were D（<70）, The excellent rate was57.89%.ConclusionThe RTHA is the best method for the failure of THA. The clinicalshould formulate detailed operative plans and sufficient preparationbefore operate basing on the condition of patients. The suitable prosthesisis the critical process for success of RTHA. In addition, we should payhigh attention to the process of recovery and supervise patients torestorative excise. It is believed that we could figure out the mosteffective method for hip disease basing on the development of medicine.
