Abstract Objective1.To investigate the expression of S100A14in different types of endometrial tissues.2.To explore the expression and significance of S100A14in endometrial adenocarcinoma.Methods1.The expression of S100A14is examined by immunohistochemistry analysis in tissue microarrays which contains four kinds of tissues:endometrial carcinoma tissues(92cases), atypical hyperplasia endometrial tissues(19cases), simple hyperplasia endometrial tissues(37cases) and normal endometrial tissues(29cases).2.The relationships between S100A14expression and clinicopathological parameters are analyzed.Results:1.The expression of S100A14in endometrial carcinoma tissues is significantly less than that in normal endometrial tissues (P=0.034), while there is no statistical difference of the expression of S100A14between atypical hyperplasia endometrial tissues, simple hyperplasia endometrial tissues and normal endometrial tissues.2.Among84endometrial carcinoma patients, S100A14expression is significantly different between well differentiated and poorly differentiated patients(P=0.020), besides, the expression of S100A14in moderately differentiated endometrial cancers is significantly higher than that in low differentiated endometrial cancers(P=0.034),however, there is no difference between well and moderate differentiation groups(P>0.05); There are75patients who went on extrafascial hysterectomy or extensive hysterectomy plus bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and pelvic lymphadenectomy. S100A14expression is significantly less in tissues with lymph node metastasis than those without lymph node metastasis(P=0.044); there is no relationship between S100A14expression and pathological staging, muscular invasion depth and five-year survival rate(P>0.05).Conclusion:Decreased expression of S100A14is correlated with higher metastasic potential and more pooly differentiated degree in human endometrial adenocarcinomas.
