Objective:To explore the effect of artesunate (ART)on proliferation of adenoidcystic carcinoma NACC and NACC-DDP cells; and investigate the possibilityof ART reversing multidrug resistance of NACC-DDP cell.Method:(1)The effect of ART on the proliferation of NACC and NACC-DDPcells was determined by MTT.(2)The expression of c-Myc and ABCG2was tested by qRT-PCR andwestern blot respectively.Result:(1)The cell proliferation capability of NACC and NACC-DDP cells inART group(150~600μM)was significantly inhibited compared with the ARTfree control group by MTT.(2)The expression of c-Myc and ABCG2mRNA of NACC and NACC-DDP cells was reduced by ART(150~600μM).(3)The expression of c-Myc and ABCG2protein of NACC andNACC-DDP cells was reduced by ART(150~600μM).Conclusion:ART can decrease the proliferation of NACC and NACC-DDP cells.Molecular level results show that ART can reduce the expression of cell growthfactor c-Myc. The results coincide with the results of cellular level. In addition,ART can reverse multidrug resistance of NACC-DDP cell, suggesting that ARTmay become a new idea of clinical treatment of chemotherapy tolerate humanadenoid cystic carcinoma.
