| Objective The objective of the research is to access the relationship between osteoporosis and trace elements, to further clarify the influence of various trace elements on bone metabolism, for providing more guidance for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis. Methods The study include270older women and men form July2013to December2013in our hospital for treatment, among which61were male,209were female.record the patient’s general information,Entry database. And then men been divided into3groups of osteoporosis, osteopenia and healthy groups by BMD. According to a65-year-old female group is divided into two group:less than or equal to65for postmenopausal women, more than65years old for older women, each grouped by bone mineral density respectively, comparing trace elements levels. Bone mineral density of L2-L4and the left proximal femur (including the neckã€the torch and the ward’s triangle) was detected using dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA Norland,USA).Using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-Ms) detection in the whole blood of Fe, Mn, zinc, Cu, Se, Co, Ni, As, Cr, Cd, Pb. Finally, All data about the difference of trace element content of were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for Windows version16.0(SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA).Results1270volunteers were investigated in this study. Among them,61were men (66.39±12.27) and209were women aged64.23±9.20years.In age and body mass index had no significant difference of cases, the t test showed that the lumbar spine and femoral neck bone mineral density of female were significantly lower than men of the same age group (P<0.05). Contents of Fe, Zn, Cd levels in men were higher than women, the Cu content is lower than that of women.2Analysis of variance showed that men over the age of50in osteoporosis group have a higher levels of Fe, Cd content than the normal group (P<0.05).3In postmenopausal women, analysis of variance showed that more than50postmenopausal women in osteoporosis group the levels of Se content is lower than normal group, in osteopenia group Se was lower than normal group. Postmenopausal women osteoporosis Pb content is higher than normal group. In older women, BMD of variance analysis showed that the Se content of osteoporosis group is lower than the normal group and osteopenia group (P<0.05).4Mn content have a positive correlation with lumbar2BMD (P<0.05).5Male serum trace element Cd has a significantly negative correlation with L2-4, L2, L3and L4BMD (P<0.05). 6In this study the trace element of Cuã€Asã€Coã€Niã€Cr have no difference in different groups divided by BMD.Conclusions (1) The women’s BMD of lumbar spine and femoral neck were significantly lower than men at the same age group(P<0.05), postmenopausal women are more likely to have osteoporosis than men at the same years old.(2)Trace elements levels have obvious difference between men and women, iron, zinc and cadmium content in men are higher than women, copper content is lower than that of women.(3)In male osteoporosis patients serum iron, cadmium content is significantly higher than the normal group, showed that men prone to the accumulation of iron and cadmium, they are risk factors for osteoporosis.(4)In postmenopausal women show a lack of selenium and the accumulation of lead, selenium should be supplement, and to reduce the exposure of lead.(5)Trace element Mn have positive effects on bone mineral density... |
