Objective: To summarize the situation of modern research achievements ofkidney ZangXiang in TCM since1949, fully reflect the research field in kidneyZangXiang, summarizes the evolution and development process for60years,refine theoretical innovation.Methods: This study is based on CNKI database, the article entitled"kidney", the theme of "Chinese medicine", search from1949to2013(up to2013June) CNKI journal database, read the title and abstract, excludeirrelevant and duplicate documents, classify the documents,and then study thedocuments according to the classification, summarize the situation of kidneyZangXiang theory inheritance and innovation roundly, refine and demonstratethe new ideas, new theories, new methods of innovative theory achievement.Results: First, Kidney ZangXiang related literature search, inclusion andclassification process initially established the modern study of thetheoretical literature summary tables Kidney ZangXiang; Second, throughcombing the literature study, thematic commentary of development status ofkidney ZangXiang has been consummated; Third, refined theoretical innovationof the research results, while showing for nearly60years of the theory oftraditional Chinese medicine kidney ZangXiang research survey.Conclusion: Essentially the kidney essence in traditional Chinesemedicine different from renal spatial structure, and should be understood asa functional unit."combination of essence and water", the unity of kidneygoverning water and kidney storing essence is the starting point forunderstanding kidney ZangXiang, but also the fundamental understanding of thedifferences between Chinese and Western medicine about kidney.
