1、Effects of Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi on levels ofserum IgG、TNF-α、IL-2and IL-6of mice bearing carcinomaObjective To explore the effects of Pfaffia glomerata planted inGuangxi on levels of serum IgG、TNF-α、IL-2and IL-6of mice bearingcarcinomaMethods60BALB/c mice aged60days were randomly dividedinto six groups, and each group had10mice. One group of them werenot inoculated while other5groups were inoculated with S180.anther50BALB/c mice aged60days were inoculated with H22. Inoculated micewere divided into five sub-groups: distilled water group, group of highdosage of Pfaffia glomerata, group of moderate dosage of Pfaffiaglomerata, group of low dosage of Pfaffia glomerata, and group ofcyclophosphamide. The group mice in which were not inoculated wascalled control group. Mice in control group and distilled water groupwere give distilled water of20ml/kg, while that in group of high dosageof Pfaffia glomerata were20ml/kg fluid with30g powder of Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi per kilogram, and group of moderatedosage with20ml/kg fluid with15g powder of Pfaffia glomerata plantedin Guangxi per kilogram, group of low dosage with20ml/kg fluid with5g powder of Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi per kilogram, groupof cyclophosphamide with20ml/kg of cyclophosphamide. All mice weregiven corresponding medicine on a daily basis during a period ofstraight14days. One hour after giving medication on the14thday,serum of mice in each group were collected in order to measure thecontent of IgG、TNF-α、IL-2and IL-6.Results:1. Compared with the control group, the content of IgG、IL-2and IL-6in mice from the distilled water group was lower withstatistical significance(P<0.01); compared with distilled water group,IgG and IL-6content in group of high dosage of Pfaffia glomerataplanted in Guangxi were significantly higher (P<0.01) and the content ofthem became lower as the dasage of Pfaffia glomerata planted inGuangxi became low; compared with distilled water group, IL-2contentin group of high dosage of Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi weresignificantly higher (P<0.05); indicating that Pfaffia glomerata plantedin Guangxi could increase the content of IgG、IL-2and IL-6in serum ofmice bearing S180.2.Compared with the control group, the content of IgG、TNF-α、IL-2and IL-6in distilled water group was lower, among which TNF-α and IL-6show significant differences(P<0.05); compared with distilledwater group, the content of IgG、TNF-α and IL-2in group of high dosageof Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi was significantly higher(P<0.01) and the differences had a positive correlation with thedosage of Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi, indicating that Pfaffiaglomerata planted in Guangxi could increase the content of IgG、TNF-αand IL-2in serum of mice bearing H22.Conclusion: Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi couldsignificantly increase the content of IgG、IL-2in serum of mice bearingS180and H22. And that effects could became greater as the dosage ofmedicine get higher. To TNF-α and IL-6, it showed no significant increase. 2、anti-tumor effects of Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi onsolid tumor of mice bearing carcinomaObjective To explore the anti-tumor effects of Pfaffia glomerataplanted in Guangxi on solid tumor of mice bearing carcinomaMethods56KM mice were randomly divided into four groups:mice of one group were not inoculated and was called control group.Mice in other three groups were inoculated with S180while another42mice were inoculated with H22.24hours after inoculation, miceinoculated with S180and H22were respectively divided into three sub-groups: distilled water group, group of Pfaffia glomerata andgroup of cyclophosphamide. Along with the control group in which themice were not inoculated, there were4groups in total and each grouphad14mice with half male and female. Mice in control group anddistilled water group were give distilled water,0.2mL/10g, while that ingroup of Pfaffia glomerata were0.2mL/10g fluid with15g powder ofPfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi per kilogram, and group ofcyclophosphamide with20ml/kg of cyclophosphamide. All mice weregiven corresponding medicine on a daily basis during a period ofstraight14days. On the15thday, tumor of mice were collected in orderto calculate tumor inhibitory rate.Results Compared with the distilled water group, the tumorweight of mice bearing S180in group of Pfaffia glomerata planted inGuangxi was slightly reduced but without statistical significance.Compared with the distilled water group, the tumor weight of micebearing S180in group of Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi wasslightly reduced but without statistical significance.Conlusion Pfaffia glomerata planted in Guangxi showed aninhibitory effect on solid tumor of mice bearing S180and H22.,but theanti-tumor effects of it still needs to be explored 3、the extraction of effective constituents of Pfaffia glomerataObjective To explore the effective constituents of Pfaffia glomerataplanted in GuangxiMethods Orthogonal test and solvents isolation method were usedto extract the effective components of Pfaffia glomerata planted inGuangxi. The structures of isolates were identified by spectroscopicmethods. In order to identify the structure of those compounds, theywere then isolated and purified by silica gel column chromatography, gelcolumn and Spectroscopy technology such as1H-NMR、13C-NMR、MS.Results Three compounds were isolated from Pfaffia glomerataplanted in Guangxi and their structures were identified respectively to beβ-sitosterol, ajugasterone C, and D-sorbitol.Conclusion Three compounds isolated from Pfaffia glomerataplanted in Guangxi and their structures were identified respectively to beβ-sitosterol, ajugasterone C, and D-sorbitol.
