Ophicalcite is one of the marble with the uncert amount of serpentine. The majorconstituent of Ophicalcite is carbonica calcarea. There are two kinds of products ,originalsubstance and the processed product, being used in clinical. The main effects of Ophicalciteare stoping bleeding and removing blood stasis. Indication: Hemoptysis, hematemesis,bleeding wound and etc.In order to meet the objective request of the modernization of TCM, the quality ofOphicalcite must be controlled with the normalized standard. This article has studied themethods of quality controlling of Ophicalcite, and the quality standard has been made outthrough several kinds of modern technologies.1. To formulate the feasible project and establish the method of quality control by looking forthe previous literature systematically, concluding the processing experience.2. Detecting the content of Ca2+ by SBE (semi—bionic extraction method), and give theadvice that the content of original product shoud be above 4%, and the content of processedproduct should be above 5%.3. Take the hardness、the relative density、sedimentation、the content of Ca2+ asmarker ,using orthogonal design to optimize the best processing technology of Ophicalcite.The optimal procedure was set as follows: the size of Ophicalcite should be controled in 0.5cm3, cauterizing at 800℃for one and a half hour.4. Using several kinds of modern technologies, such as IR、DTA、SEM and X-raydiffraction to investigate the quality control of Ophicalcite.5. It is found that the mechanism of action of Ophicalcite is probably promoting plateletaggregation and vasoconstriction through the pharmacological experiment.6. The best clinical consumpation has been advised by orthogonal design that the processedOphicalcite shoud be porphyrizated through 60 screen mesh and be taken 9g.
