"zhuo" belongs to an aesthetic category which embodies a unique nationalcharacteristic in Chinese classical aesthetics. It enriches the essence of Chineseaesthetics and aesthetic connotation; and summarizes the art phenomenon of thedevelopment of Chinese literature."zhuo" has the aesthetic features of artisticsimplicity, truth, freedom, and liveliness. It embodies a writing perspective thatstresses nature rather than man-made imitation, shows an aesthetic aspect as well asan emphasis on the return of the nature of life. This article attempts to excavate theaesthetic quality of “zhuo” from the generalization of its connotation and a list of itsdevelopment clues. Based on a deeply rooted Chinese traditional culture, the aspectsof creation and appreciation as well as the theory of aesthetics, the article also attemptto disclose the rich connotation and wide denotation of “zhuo”, aiming at exploringthe spirit of Chinese aesthetics.
