Mankind is entering "Being Digital" era, digital technology has greatly changed theway we work, live, entertainment and so on. In the animation field, we have begun to makeextensive use of digital technology for animation.Digital technology brought animation artthe high flying wings, a combination of both, resulting in digital animation. Compared totraditional animation，whether creation tools or visual effects, there has been a huge leapforward in digital animation. This paper aims to analyze the current digital technology inanimation applications, animation and digital effects technology, summed up thecharacteristics and advantages of digital animation, to make better use of digitaltechnology for animation.The first chapter of this thesis analyzes the topic of the research background, as wellas domestic and foreign-related dissertation research purposes. I engaged in animationeducation for some time, also did some animation-related research, and thus have someidea of the digital animation;Chapter II discusses the digital technology and digital animation concepts, thischapter is a connecting part, first discussed the scope of the "animation" in this articleclearly, the second is to analyze the basic characteristics of digital animation, digitalanimation and traditional animation sum up the relationship. Digital animation with digitaltechnology and animation genes, forming its own unique characteristics, based on thesecharacteristics, formed the main types of digital animation, that the main application typesof digital technology in animation.Chapter III discusses the digital technology in animation applications.
