Digital Protection And Cultural Living Space Of Musical Dance Performances In Confucius Memorial Ceremony

Based on the basic in-depth study of the cultural living space of musical danceperformances in Confucius memorial ceremony, this paper is presented. The authortries to do the research on the protection and recovery of Confucius musical danceperformances and then conducts a user experience experiment. The related work istheoretical perfection and innovation practice to the traditional protection method ofintangible cultural heritage.Firstly, this article analyzes the four aspects of cultural living space of musicaldance performances in Confucius memorial ceremony, the material culture level, thesystem culture level, the behavior culture level and the spirit culture level. Moreover,by deciphering its Confucius temple architecture, costumes and props, the Confuciusritual system and the system of rites and music, this paper analyzes its material andcultural structure, and the embodied connotation. Also, from the perspective oftraditional codes of conduct, Music morality thinking, the beauty of tolerance andkindness, Yin-Yang and Five Elements Theory, benevolence, and harmony but notuniformity, the author analyzes the underlying meaning of the behavior as well aslong-term accumulation of the Chinese nation’s common cultural mentality, whichdigs out the ecological significance of the cultural living space of musical danceperformances in Confucius memorial ceremony. In doing so, to protect the culturalliving space is to protect the traditional Chinese national spirit.Secondly, based on the analysis of cultural living space, the author presents thekey technologies of the digital protection of musical dance performances inConfucius memorial ceremony. We did a field survey on the Confucian Temple andobtained a large number of photos, videos and documents. After that, we rearrangedmusical dance performances and obtained movement data with the use of motioncapture technology. In this way, we achieved the animated simulation of musicaldance performances in Confucius memorial ceremony. At last, we accomplished the3D interactive experiencing system. Through gestures recognition and control, andthe integration of kinect depth camera and computer, the user’s appreciation andunderstanding of classical culture is deepen by interactive experience which is fun,natural and intuitive. On this basis, through a detailed user experiment and thecomparison of animation and somatosensory game, two different experience systems,we evaluate and demonstrate the effect of cultural experience for the Confuciusmemorial ceremony.Combining the cultural living space analysis and digital protection technology analysis, the paper further discusses the mutual impact of digital technology on thecultural living space, and their ways of integration with the theory ofdisenchantment and reenchantment. Specifically, we analyze the interaction modelbetween the virtual space and traditional space and thus build a harmonious naturalecological system with active heritage in order to achieve the real purpose ofcultural protection as well as transmit and develop Chinese culture fundamentally.Nowadays, it is an inevitable developing tendency to use digital technology forthe dissemination and the protection of intangible cultural heritage. From the pointof view of the interaction between the cultural living space and digital technology,we investigate the protection methods of musical dance performances in Confuciusmemorial ceremony and then provide guidance. Meanwhile, the article provides anew thought for other intangible cultural heritage protection and disseminationwhich has a certain practical significance and application prospects.
