Trimming is one of the common decorating techniques in the Chinese traditional clothing. Besides this, it is also the important element in the Chinese traditional clothing. It brings about varied aesthetic features and decorating techniques with the changes of the dynasties. It also derives some profound cultural connotations from the Chinese traditional culture. Qing Dynasty is the Golden Age of the cultural development of the Chinese traditional clothing. In the great social changes and the exchanges and integrations between the Man nationality and the Han nationality, clothing in Qing Dynasty forms its unique glamour. During this time, the trimming of women’s clothing gets the soul of the trimming of clothing in past dynasties. With its unique artistic characteristics, exquisite decorating techniques and plentiful connotations, it constitutes the culture element which is full of Chinese connotations.This paper researches on the trimming of women’s clothing in Qing dynasty.
