Late Qing Dynasty Manchu Women Knitting Clothing Research

In the development of costume history, being accompanied by the development of tatting and knitting, the fabric formation has formed into two large categories. Late Qing Dynasty was a large period for knitting apparel development, and with strong local characteristics, the Manchu clothing has inherited and carried forward the historical culture of Chinese fabric. Especially, during the period of Late Qing Dynasty, under the influence of the development of progressive productivity and growing up of Capitalism’s bud, knitting clothing had a rapidly development in fabric organization form and clothing styles, and changed the situation behind the development of the tatting clothing. China was an ancient textile country. People learned knitting and weaving from primitive society, and continually created a lot of knitting and textile tools to satisfied people’s living needs. In the Late Qing Dynasty, the level of knitting technology reached its peak, and laid a good foundation for the later development of knitting clothing.The papers were divided into four parts. Firstly, a generally overview of the characteristics of knitting clothing was made , as well as the factors that influence the development of the Manchu dress, and the social background about the origin and development of Manchu knitting clothes. Secondly, women’s embroidery was introduced emphatically, and the characteristics of knitting technology development and the applications in Late Qing Dynasty. Thirdly, the characteristics and the development and style changes of Late Qing Dynasty Manchu women’s knitting clothing under the influence of Han knitting and foreign clothing was studied .Then, combining the Manchu embroidery and knitting techniques, the Manchu knitting clothing characteristics was studied in the aspects of color and pattern. In the end, deeply dig the great art value of Late Qing Dynasty Manchu women knitting clothing, summed up the impact of the Late Qing Dynasty knitting clothing to modern clothes, and Conceived and created practice on the basis of research work.This paper mainly focused on the features of Manchu women knitting clothing in the Late Qing Dynasty, then summed up the personality characteristics of Manchu women knitting clothing in the style, color, pattern, decoration and other aspects. At the same time, it also studied the affection on the Qing Dynasty knitting clothing and later knitted development. In short, the Qing Dynasty knitting dress has become one of the important intangible cultural heritages in the cultural costume history.
