Dynamic Construal of word meaning is one of the new approaches to explain word meaning, which is different from objective linguistics. Objective linguistics adopts the assumption that word meaning is regarded as a stable, inherent and static property and independent from the context. Therefore, objective linguistics can’t give a satisfactory explanation for the word meaning. Dynamic Construal of word meaning adopts the assumption that both meaning and structural relations are not specified in the lexicon, but are construed on-line, in actual situation of use, that is to say, meaning is highly context-dependent, and it can only be clear through construing contexts on line. Beyond question, the Dynamic Construal of meaning breakthroughs the limitation of the static perspective of objective linguistics and shows the achievements of lexical semantics. Therefore, the Dynamic Construal of word meaning is called the new tendency of research on lexical meaning. Dynamic Construal of word meaning gives a satisfactory account of word meaning to reach a relatively more comprehensive and subtle level. Microsenses are distinct sense units which occur in different contexts. And microsenses are one of distinctive aspects of words, in which words show meanings at a highly degree of comprehensiveness and specificity. Therefore word meanings in Dynamic Construal of microsenses are dynamic, because they are construed in actual use and represent the infinite context-dependent variability. Therefore, this paper will comprehend word meaning under the guide of Dynamic Construal of microsenses, which is closer to word meaning at the actual situation of use.Translation is a special kind of language communications, which means translation realizes communication by language transition of meaning. During this process, the translators comprehend the source text or not can play a decisive role in the interlingual transfer of meaning and success of communication. Whether word meanings are understood correctly or not has a great influence on the accuracy of the translation, especially for the translation of the ancient Chinese.Since China implemented its reform and opening up policies, many excellent translators have emerged. They all try their best to introduce Chinese Classics to foreign countries by translating Chinese Classics into English, which is not enough, however. The English translation of Gu Wen Guan Zhi is left without anybody to care for it, and only a few are translated. In2005, Luo Jinguo, Professor of Beijing University, translated Gu Wen Guan Zhi, which fills in the blank of this field. This paper takes Gu Wen Guan Zhi as the research objects and construes it under the guide of the Dynamic Construal of microsenses in order to not only discuss whether dynamic construal of microsenses can offer a satisfactory account for English translation of Chinese Classics or not, but also provide a new perspective to English translation of Chinese Classics.
