In recent years, the cognitive linguistics as a new rising discipline gradually gets the development with its vigor. However, in the field of cognitive linguistics, dynamic construal theory from the perspective of dynamic attention has attracted people’s attention as a new angle. Dynamic attention theory advocates the description of static scenery with a dynamic perspective and explores the further meaning by scanning. While dynamic construal theory is in favor that the translators should deeply comprehend the original context with the use of various knowledge to conceptualize the reconstructed version and highlight the author’s intention in the specific language environment. In general, the dynamic construal theory from the dynamic attention is focused on specific language environment to construe static scenery with dynamic summary scanning, sequential scanning and fictive motion so as to achieve the purpose of comprehending the further meaning in the original context.Poetry, as the form of literature and art, mainly arouse the reader’s emotional factors through the aesthetics characteristics of its language. However, because of the different characteristics of languages and cultural differences, the poetry’s genre and style are also distinct from each other so that it increases the difficulty in poetry translation. The study of dynamic construal theory is not too much in the English translation of Chinese poetry, so the author selects three Mao Zedong’s poems Changsha, New Year’s Day and the Long March as the original version of Chinese poetry and choose the official version, Gu Zhengkun and Xu Yuanchong’s versions as the translated English versions from many translation of Mao Zedong’s pomes for reference to make the further study. This study, based on the theoretical perspective of dynamic attention from the theory of cognitive linguistics, tries to make the research of dynamic construal on English translation of Chinese poetry through the analysis of translated versions and discuss the explanatory power of dynamic construal to the English translation of Chinese poetry from the perspective dynamic attention.
