In human culture, the concept of the "disease" is not only a simple physiological phenomenon, it is carrying the heavy symbolic significance and philosophical color. What’ more, since the concept "disease" was introduced into literature, it has been as a metaphor. For this reason, disease imagery appeared in the literature must have more profound connotation than the disease itself. In the history of Chinese contemporary literature,"disease" has been as a common metaphor for the nation status and national spirit.Therefore metaphor meaning of "patient" and "disease" has rich connotation, which formed a tradition runs through Chinese contemporary literature since the "May4th". But it should be paid attention that in the creation history of Chinese contemporary literature, female is representative for disease more often. Writing for female disease and body and so on disease metaphor for female, it illustrates female disease is a kind of real defect, a kind of nature, or the product of a kind of extension and assumptions? Because of the war, the contemporary literature in the40’s can be divided into the Kuomintang-controlled areas, the liberated areas and occupied areas of three different regional literature.From three different regional literature in the40’s,the author selected typical sick women image in the works of three representative writers Lu Ling, Eileen Chang, DING Ling to make a comprehensive explanation disease writing and metaphors in1940s.The paper is divided into four parts. The introductory part makes a comprehensive combing of disease narrative,modern literature disease narrative and female diseases narrative. The first chapter, selecting two crazy women forms the text of Lu Ling and Eileen Chang---the S. E. Guo, and Cao Qiqiao image, analyzes and compares the reason, performance and metaphors about their madness. Meanwhile Lu Ling and Eileen Chang made an effort to highlight the absurd and dark about the society. Based on Ding Lings novel, the second chapter analyzes a weak woman, hehuaming’wife, in the liberated areas.There are multiple sicknesses existing in the image of weak woman which she represents. Ding Ling’s description of weak woman tries to highlight the’sickness’really means the building of one kind of society. While liberation means breaking the mechanism of social exclusion, to let woman truly get self and liberation and those nameless become decent human beings. The next part, based on two sick women form the text of Ding Ling and Eileen Chang---Zhen Zhen and Chuan Chang, convey the cruel and survival predicament of the true disease.To explore the particularity of disease and body reflected from the sick women image in authors of the40’s. Such a specific comments rather than abstract words on disease. Disease and body would supply bigger and more space. So through the selected "individual" to see the meaning behind the physical diseases or psychopathy and some surely stand-out issues behind it, such as body, enlightenment, revolution, the establishment of the "people", women’s liberation and so on.
