There are a lot of research findings about The Book of Songs all through the ages.This thesis takes The History of Han Dynasty as the research material, studying the characteristics of its citations from The Book of Songs. Then the thesis moves on to analyze the changed position and the reasons for the change about The Book of Songs when it developed and came to the Han Dynasty.Thus the thesis consists of the following parts.The introduction mainly defines the concept of "citations from The Book of Songs", working out the scope of the study. Meanwhile, the part explains the versions of The Book of Songs and The History of Han Dynasty, so the reference versions of the the research subjects are clear.Besides, it briefly introduces the available research results obtained before this study,so the present research situation is made clear and present study will be easy to carry on. This part also points out the progress of the thesis compared with previous researches and leads to a general understanding in the new research progress of this topic and the writing characteristics of the thesis.Chapter One discussed the feature of quote from just by five respect,such as the sections from, the occasions and the intention from, the style of The History of Han Dynasty, the identity of characters in The History of Han Dynasty who have quoted from The Book of Songs,the functions of The Book of Songs. Chapter Two is the poetic philosophy reflected from the citations in The History of Han Dynasty which have been discussed in Chapter One. The poetic philosophy is much different from that in the pre-Qin period. This part is the precondition of the thesis and the basis for the following in-depth discussion.Thence,I have put it in the part of Appendix.
