In June13th,1923,Cao Kun who was a Zhi xi Warlord staged a coup, and thepresident Li-Yuanhong was driven out, the media directly called this mutiny was “theBeijing Coup”. This time of coup, the Zhi xi Warlords had premeditated for a longtime. To reach the purpose, they ordered the Service cabinets to makeZhang-Shaozeng resign his post, and falsely claimed that after his resign,Li-Yuanhong was expelled, they immediately appointed him as the president. To flatterCao Kun, Zhang-Shaozeng had no way to do but resign. When the Ministry hasresigned, the police office made an excuse that no one can do responsibility for thecabinet, so they directly asked Li Yuanhong for money. And Li cannot afford it,then, they instigated the police to resign. Thus, Beijing was no police to keep the order, then, Feng-Yu xiang and Wang-Huai qing forced Li-Yuanhong to resign by theirstrong arm. Under the pressure of the Warlords, after the cabinet has resigned, all thenoblemen in Beijing expressed that they would not cooperate with Li-Yuanhong, andLi cannot form a cabinet, so he had to leave Beijing to Tianjin.During the period of the Northern Warlords, the country was locked in a tangledfight, so the cabinet changed a lot, this became the deep reason of the coup. On theother hand, the Zhixi warlords utilized the financial problem of constitution to makesome trouble for Li-Yuanhong, and this intensified the contradiction between thepresident and the cabinet, furthermore, this became the catalyst of the coup. And,someone like Feng-Yuxiang made a lot contributions to this coup, he ordered the armencircled the presidential palace and dismissed the police for times, and he instigatedthe “citizen party” to spread leaflets to slander Li-Yuanhong, next, with Wang-Huaiqing, they resigned together to express that they have no responsibility to keepthe order in Beijing, and they demanded Li-Yuanhong left Beijing at once. Besides, the imperialist countries wanted to make a lot interests in China, and in the chance ofthe Lincheng Case, they put the “loan contract” as bait to affect the Beijing Coup. And Cao Kun was treated as the one that supported by the imperialist countries. To defend his personal interests, Cao Kun as a Zhixi warlord, he always defiesthe law and schemes to usurp power, and these behaviors made some negative effectson the internal affairs and diplomacy of the country, and made much trouble to the people. First, after the coup, the imperialist countries made some pressure to Cao Kunin succession, they excused that the political situation of China was out of joint, sothey wanted to intervene the government finance and economy, what’s worse, andthey wanted to put China under an international country by dispatched troops. Second, the behaviors what Cao Kun did was made lots of cries of anger by the nationalpeople. Third, the organizations of other provinces convened a conference, and theyrelentless rebuked Zhixi Warlords and the political of Beijing. Fourth, the threeprovinces which including Huan, Feng, Yue utilized the rising situation of againstZhixi, they joined together, and the triangle alliance was stronger than before. Fifth, after the coup, the tide that against Zhixi directly affect Feng-Yuxiang’s attitude toCao Kun, this was the reason what the Beijing Coup happened, and it accelerated thedownfall of the Zhixi Warlords. This article tried to describe the influence of the coup to the society and thepolitical of the national country. So we can reveal the deadly harmful of the warlordcontrol and the conspiracy of the imperialism wanted to control the political of China. What’s more, we can obviously understand the roots of the unstable political in thecontrol of the Northern Warlords. And we can have a progress understanding of thenecessity and urgency to start a national revolution. At last, I hope it has some helps tothe academe.
