Beijing is one of the cultural centers in China, and it has a long history and strong regional features, which influence the generations in Beijing. The paper describes the definition of Beijing culture and its unique features. Since its inception, when Lao She’s novel Four generations in one household is successively adapted for the television series, television drama with Beijing features becomes more active on screen. Moments in Peking and The Grand Mansion Gate are the typical representatives of traditional culture on screen, which both tell the story of old Beijing people’s traditional customs and the paper reflects unique Beijing culture through the analysis of these two works.The first part of the paper analyses the definition of Beijing culture and its unique features. There is a long and specific history of Beijing culture and in the process of development, it forms unique and complete cultural formation. An atmosphere of cultural fills this city, which comes from the traditional folk customs, the distinctive architectural style, profound and diversified artistic accomplishments.The second part bases on Beijing culture and states the form of novel and screen about Moments in Peking, which fully reflects many aspects of regional cultural. The paper tries to show the deep meaning of old Beijing culture through the psychological activities of the characters, etiquette, customs and other aspects of life in Moments in Peking.The third part discusses the novel The Grand Mansion Gate in the cultural and historical backgrounds. This part analyses the characters, plots, space in the story from the narrative perspective and makes effort to dig out the features of Beijing cluture, like folk customs, pure Beijing accent, and so on. The scene in the work is filmed in the background of old Beijing, and the audience can see the features from all characters.The fourth part describes the superiority of Beijing-style by comparing the film and television drama of Beijing-style and Shanghai-style in the context of their cultures. In the different historical period, there are distinctive and diverse cultural features in Beijing, which embody and reflect local social life and customs. Film and television drama, as a platform, spreads Beijing culture which also provides more creative source for the screen.
