Marguerite Duras (1914-1996),the renowned woman writer in contemporary France, is famous in the literature world for her unique narrative style and he maverick mode of life. It is her consistent in the writing attitude."Rather than let it beyond understanding" that makes her novels provided with peculiar enchantment."All is vanity", this is the core Principe of Duras’thought throughout writing. On the one hand she believes in "vanity", on the other hand she is unreconciled to the fact. She uses writing to cast off the terrible truth, yet has no intention to fill the "vanity", so that sow words around the vanity and let the echoes come into being internally. For this phenomenon, author coin words as "Echoes in Vacancy".Main supported with theories of narratology, the article makes an attempt to confirm the characteristic of "Echoes in Vacancy". Chapter one concentrates on the "lack" phenomenon and the "vacancy" presented in the respects of the time-space construction, the narrative rhythm and the narrative perspective in the texts of Duras’. Chapter two summarizes the peculiar on narrative voice of the novels, and explores the phenomenon on the voice of "Echoes" in Duras’novels, that is the sources of the written materials of her novels, from the psychological aspects of creation. Chapter three mainly studies the intersexuality between her novels and some features like polyphony of her novels, which bring the tremor to the readers,and explores something about "Echoes in Vacancy" from the sources of Duras’thought by the two key elements,"Black room" and "Vanity". The peroration is both a summary and a leap, trial to reveal the beauty of life manifested in the "Echoes in Vacancy".
