Study On Feminism Epistemology Of Science

In contemporary reflection wave of western science and culture, as an important power of academic criticism, feminism has diffused from political movement and ideology to the entire culture field and academia in recent decades, also gradually spread from humanities infiltrate into natural science.Feminism got involved in filed of science in the sixties and seventies of the20thcentury, so the feminism scientific research purpose and motivation in the very great degree are not only to fight for the voice for women in science but to seek the equality between men and women and the liberation of women. Feminism genres contain liberal feminism, radical feminism, Marxism feminism and ecological feminism. Feminism opens a new cultural perspective with its unique gender concern and deeply criticizes the mainstream science from different levels. In another aspect, feminism uncovers male centralism and gender discrimination, tries to establish a new kind of feminism science.Feminism epistemology which is also called feminism knowledge, have made a critique and reflection on the epistemology explore from the gender perspective and carried out the understanding of the knowledge and its system from different levels. It is the important part of feminism philosophy. This article start from the feminism critique of the epistemology level, analyze the characteristics and limitations of the feminist empiricism, feminist standpoint theory and postmodern feminism. Also, the article compared these three representative epistemology systems with traditional epistemology theory, attempts to give an outline about the feminist scientific epistemology. Finally, feminism science epistemology is reviewed and expounds the significance of feminist epistemology of philosophy of science and points out the limitations of feminism epistemology.
