Being an influential work to Chinese culture, Tso chuan is endowed with rich connotation whichattracts large mounts of scholars generation after generation to study repeatedly. The name of this thesis isThe Annotation and Study of Tso chuan Wei by Wu Kaisheng. The writer fixes his attention on thecomments in it. Tso chuan Wei can be regarded as the greatest support which was corrected by Bai Zhaolinand published by Huangshan Press in1995. This thesis contains four chapters, they are: Wu Kaishenghimself, his book, idea of history and Confucian classics tendency; The three methods to reveal “sublimewords with deep meaning”; Double perspectives of four principles on grammar in Tso chuan Wei; Theinheritance of Tongcheng group in Tso chuan Wei.In chapter one, the writer gives a brief introduction of Wu Kaisheng’s life and works. It can bedivided into three parts: Wu Kaisheng, his book and his thought tendency. There exists many studies onliterariness of Tso chuan. However, scholars sometimes neglect the comments and Wu Kaisheng himself.So this chapter gives a deeply analysis on the idea of history and classics.Then, Tso chuan is a terrific work which is mixed by the study of Confucian classics, history andliterature. Thus, this thesis tries to analyze Wu Kaisheng’s comments from these perspectives. And thecontent is the materialization and extension of the third part in chapter one.Additionally, the four principles of grammar is the greatest contribution to Tso chuan by WuKuisheng. The writer tries to find the splendid structure in four principles of grammar, Wu Kaisheng’soriginality and his double perspectives through the analysis of them.In the last cheaper, the identity of Wu Rulun’s son is more popular and famous compared with hissignificant position in political circles. Wu Kaisheng was deeply influenced by family atmosphere from a very young age, so he has deep knowledge of literature. This chapter mainly discusses the inheritance ofTongcheng prose in Tso chuan Wei and the comments of literature theory on Tongcheng.Through this thesis, the writer wants to clear up Wu Kaisheng’s basic information from differentangles and draw a conclusion about Wu Kaisheng’s ideology. We can get a better understanding ofliterariness of Tso chuan from the study in order to inherit and carry forward the precious literary heritagefrom predecessors.
