Conforming To Nature-the View Of Happiness Involved In Meditation

As people’s living standard rises,“what is the happiness of life?”is a very important question tous, especially concern.People give different answer to this question. How did Marcus Aurelius, a Romanemperor which lived in2000years ago,think about this question? In his meditation Marcus Aurelius said,"what is happiness? It does not exist in wealth,nor does it exist in fame,and people find happiness onlywhen he lives in accordance with nature."What is the reason? Material fortune provides us with necessary articles for daily use,and we cannot live without them, but they cannot give people happiness, so where is happiness? Marcus Aureliusthinks happiness exists in logos, in nature. Logos is eternal. We can find happiness in eternal logos. AndLao zi’s Tao also is eternal, what is relationship between Tao and logos? The characteristics of the materialgoods is changeable, so is the body. And we all know body is mortal. So the fame and wealth conceringbody are not eternal,,and so it is not difficult to understand Marcus Aurelius’view of fame and wealth. Howcan we not feel fear when we get rid of mortal bodies? Marcus Aurelius think we can try to live with logos,and it means happiness. Logos is eternal and immortal. Depending on its eternity, we do not need to feardeath. So we need to live with logos in order to get happiness.This view provide a new perspective. Let uslive with eternal logos and this means happiness.
