The Study Of Creative Minimalism-techniques In Arvo Part’s "Tintinnabuli"

Arvo Part is a very important European composer among the contemporary composers in20Century. He is well-known by his featured "Tintinnabuli" compositions. Due to the minimalism character and religious music style in "Tintinnabuli", his compositions are defined as "Holy Minimalism" as well as a few composers whose works have the similar characters and style. Also, Arvo Part and his "Tintinnabuli" is strongly related to the American Minimalism which occurred at the same time. This dissertation uses comparative analysis to analyze how Arvo Part manages materials, structures and artistic styles in his compositions and how he combines both compositional techniques in Minimalism and his thoughts of "Tintinnabuli" to create his own unique musical style.
