The Franciscan Order, which had a major impact on the history of Christianity,rise in the13thcentury.St. Francis, the creator of the Order, was revered as one of themost beloved saints in the history of Christ. His thoughts still be respected. You canfind Franciscan Order in many places of the world in present-day. Many theologians,historians and writers focus their eyes on it and do a research on many aspects.The article is divided into three parts, including the introduction, main body andconclusion.The introductory section include two sections. The first one made a brieflydescribe of the Medicant Order, and the second one introduced the trend of theresearch and relative articles and books.There are three sections of the main body.It analysis the reasons of the rise of theOrder in three aspects, including personal, economic and religious.The personalsection deals with St. Francis’s Life and Thought. From this section, we know how St.Francis transition from the "rich" to "extreme poverty", how hard he tried to developthe Order. And discussed the "poor in spirit" and "spirituality and humility" in thesecond chapter of this section.The next section discussed the economic factors.Itbroadly described the rise and development of the economy of the city as well asmoney economy, but more important is to elicit a range of issues and phenomenatriggered due to them, which is one of the boosters of the rise of the Franciscan Order.The third section is about religious factors.Cathari and The Waldensians are the twomain heresies in the13thcentury, which made the church face a great threat. At thesame time, there are many contradictions with the church. The church felt powerlessto deal with all the problems at the same time.The Franciscan Order showed at aperfect time when the church need help.And that’s why the church supported itdevelopment instead of suppression.A summary of the text was made at the conclusion part. We should know that therise of the order including both accidental and inevitable factors.It is not only lies inthe personal factor, but in the background of the social environment.These factors,including Commercial economic development, the rise of the city, the secularizationof the church as well as cultural atmosphere, all needed to be focus when analysis the topic.
