This thesis is a retrospective research on the writer’s translated text Spring Silkworms,which is the first one of the rural trilogy written by the famous writer, Mao Dun. The languageof this faction is distinguishing, which has many spoken languages, dialects and agriculturalproduction terminologies. The writer used the proper translation theories and skills and solvedthe problems in translation process.The thesis can be divided into five chapters. In the first chapter, the writer analyzes thesource text from four aspects, including the background information, the style, the features andthe difficulties of Spring Silkworms. According to the above factors, she makes sure the tone ofher translation. In the second chapter, the writer overviewed the translation process. During thetranslation, the writer met some difficulties and used the proper skills to resolve them. The thirdchapter is the most important part of the thesis. The writer expatiates on the theories and skillsshe used in the translation process with examples from two aspects. One is the special wordsand expressions; the other is the characters shaping. Also, the writer demonstrates thepracticability of her translation. In the fourth part, the writer compared her translation test withthe parallel text, during which the readers can find out the good result of the retranslation. In thelast chapter, the writer summarizes what she gains in the process of translation. She points outher weakness and her goal in the future at the same time. She also stresses on the importance ofthe retranslate of this faction.
