Self-awareness is one of the most popular concepts in the study of psychology. Though today the researching field of primary and secondary students’self-awareness is relatively mature, the children’s self-awareness still seems relatively weak. Therefore, understanding and exploring self-awareness’development of a young child are very important not only to deepen the understanding of the psychology of young children, but also to improve the level of self-awareness of early childhood education practice.In this study, based on the perspective of the child care peer interaction, peer nomination method young children into popular type, generally ignore type is rejected type, selection of appropriate adaptation of Piers-Harris Children’s Self-Consciousness Scale interview tool to explore the characteristics of the development of self-awareness of the types of children5-6years old exchanges, and the following conclusions:1.Lower overall level of development of the self-consciousness of the5-6year-old children. Poor children’s self-evaluation capacity; than a single self-emotional experience; weak self-monitoring.2.Child self-conscious the three psychological component unbalanced development. The performance for the development of children’s self-evaluation capacity relatively quickly, but the slow development of self-experience and self-monitoring ability.3.Popular children self-evaluation more objective, independent, accurate, ignore the type of child care and reject the type of child care more subjective self-evaluation, lack of independence, inaccurate. The salient features of the general type of children’s self-evaluation are a neutral evaluation.4.Popular type are more likely to have young children of their own social status anxiety, emotional self-experience of the type of child care was rejected mainly with confidence.5.The popular children’s self-monitoring ability is relatively strong, and be able to use the control strategy.In addition, in order to promote the development of children’s self-awareness, education should adopt the following strategies:1. Proper evaluation of young children.2. Improve the children’s self-evaluation capacity.3. Promote peer interaction.4. Emphasis on family education.
