In the contemporary literature history of China, Liu Zhenyun is undoubtedly regarded asone of the best. He is also "a writer to see life thorough with a pungent vision". He used tobegin with the trivial daily life, question it persistently and explore the ultimate value andmeaning of human existence in his novel. After the "new history" novel, in which history isreshaped in an absurd, banter or ridiculous language in the nineties, Liu Zhenyun mainlywrites full-length novel, such as "Mobile Phone","My Name is Liu Yuejin","A Top TenThousand " and "I am not Pan". He once again returns to real life, showing men’scontemporary life, under the theme of "speak" and the thread of "searching". This paper isbased on Liu’s four novels in recent years and existentialist philosophic viewpoints_ridiculous world, lonely life and living circumstances to analyze his fictions, which is abouthuman’s living conditions in both developed cities and simplicity country under the socialcontext of the rapid development of new science and technology.The introduction of this paper summarizes Liu Zhenyun’s novels in these years andintroduces research questions, as well as the research status quo. The main body consists ofthree parts. The first chapter focuses on the brief comparison of Liu Zhenyun’s four novels inrecent years:"Mobile Phone","My Name is Liu Yuejin","A Top Ten Thousand" and "I amnot Pan". And then summing up that after the "new historical novel", Liu comes back to reallife. He uses his acute and unique perspective to captures human life in the era of science oftechnology, from the phone, U disk to other high-tech products. He presents the changes ofhuman being’s living conditions through the themes of "speak" and "searching". In Chapter II,the paper reveals the new living challenges in daily life through the theme of the novels. Thethird chapter uses existentialist viewpoint to analyze the problems and the truths of life whichare infiltrated in Liu’s novels, arousing the thought of how to survive and the ultimate valueand meaning of human existence. Conclusion mainly summarizes the unique status and valueof Liu Zhenyun in contemporary literature history.
