Comprehensive Discussion About The Authenticity Of The Works In Songyus’ Research History

In the history of the “Chu Ci” studies, we have to mention two representativefigures---Qu Yuan and Song Yu. Song Yu was well-known as Qu Yuan since ancienttimes. The first record of Song Yu’s works dated from Han Dynasty, it is said that hehad16works. However, it still remains controversial in Song Yu’s works. This paperselects the works signed Song Yu as a research object. Through sorting out thescholars’ thoughts of authenticity on Song Yu’s works and the judgments reasons,combining the archaeological discoveries and the recently research on Song Yu’sworks, we make systemic analysis and meticulous study in order to do acomprehensive textual research on the works signed as Song Yu.We can divide the paper into five chapters to do textual research on Song Yu’sworks.I. The review of authenticity of Song Yu’s works. We distinguish the workssigned name of Song Yu according to the scholars’ records. It is still no consensus onsome of the works signed as Song Yu. In this paper, we list the mainstream view ofthe scholars in Song Yu’s works and analyze the arguments to determine which worksare Song Yu’s.II. Authenticity of Song Yu’s works in “Chu Ci Zhang Ju”.“Jiu Bian”, as the onlywork of Song Yu, is questioned by the scholars. As far as the author of “Zhao Hun” isconcerned, it has been fiercely discussed from ancient times until now. According tothe comments from scholars in different dynasties, we have the conclusion that SongYu is the author of the two works.III. Authenticity of Song Yu’s works in “Wen Xuan”. Due to the excavation of“Tang Le Fu” and the scholars’ comments, we can confirm that“FengFu”“Gao TangFu”“Shen Nv Fu”“Deng Tu Zi Hao Se Fu” and “Du Chu Wang Wen” are Song Yu’sworks.IV. Authenticity of Song Yu’s works in “Gu Wen Yuan”. By means ofsummarizing the scholars’ analyzes, we consider “Di Fu”“Da Yan Fu”“Xiao Yan Fu”“Feng Fu”“Diao Fu” as Song Yu’s works.“Wu Fu” is still questionable.V. Though the historical record in the literature、 the spreading condition and thescholars’ comments,“Gao Tang Dui”“Ying Zhong Dui”“Bao You Ren Shu” aremisquotations while for “Wei Yong Fu”, further research is needed.
