As is known to all, Wang Wei is an important poet at Glorious age of TangDynasty, with his great contribution to leading poetry of Tang Dynasty to booming.Wang Wei raised his ideal of the appreciation of the beauty of poetry, that is poeticstyle of the Jiangzuo(the east side of theYangtze River) style, poetic style of the Jian’an Period(during the reign of Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty), which becomes theguiding principle of the creation of poems. So his poems have inherited the traditionof the southern regions, and deeply influenced by the poetic style of Han-WeiDynasty. The essay will center on the study of close connection between Wang Weiand his poems and the culture from The Tsin Dynasty to Nan Dynasty, and thenexpound the similarities between the poetic style of southern characters and WangWei’s idea, personality as well as his poetry style. Moreover, the essay hold that WangWei has opened up new realms of poetry by his unique talent and character and goodeducation, which is based on his inheriting the artistic tradition of the poetry of TheTsin Dynasty. In conclusion, Wang Wei has made both a great achievement andfar-reaching influence for the poetry during Glorious age of Tang Dynasty.The whole essay are divided into four sections to expound my point of view. Theopening chapter probes into the connection between Wang Wei and the culture ofhereditary scholar class in the east side of the Yangtze River through the influencewhich Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism have on both Wang Wei and hereditaryscholar class in the east side of the Yangtze River. The second chapter expound thecommon aesthetics features that the poetry of Wang Wei and poetry of the east side ofthe Yangtze River both possessed in terms of the disposition. The third chapter aims toclassify the major subject matter of poetry from Wang Wei and take the poetry uponthe emperor’s order, the poems about parting with friends and scenic poems forexample to analyze how the poetry of Wang Wei to inherit and develop the poetry ofThe Tsin Dynasty. The last chapter digs into how Wang Wei inherit the artistic skills inpoetry of Jiangzuo and make a breakthrough in it from the aspect of artistic skills ofpoetry.
