Differences in traditional Chinese and Western music is based in Westernculture. Because of their different parts of the world, so different psychologicalstructure of corresponding with the world, the Chinese and Western people are tounderstand the spirit of each culture and the people. Also not the same in each conceptunder the influence of Chinese and Western artists the theory reflects not only theworld but also to express their inner artistic and guidance Arts created. Start from acultural paradigm, in the grasp of the basic characteristics of the Aesthetic Thought ofChinese and Western music and the comparison of Chinese and Western musicaesthetic premise, cut into the comparative understanding of the aesthetic similaritiesand differences between Chinese and Western music aesthetics, including aestheticideal, aesthetic procedures and aesthetic way. Focus on scientific and normativeresearch process, combined with a large number of Chinese and Western art practice,made an analysis of the concept of combing theory summarized. And emphaticallyillustrates the concept of "harmony" pursuit of Chinese and Western musical culture,as well as the similarities and differences between "Heaven" and "Heaven Separation","ethical standard" and "science based" series of cultural identity. In this paper, on thebasis of traditional music aesthetics, emphasizing the differences in traditionalWestern music aesthetics in different historical periods, cultural backgrounds,aesthetic concepts, both national character, explained in traditional Western musicaesthetics aesthetics, resulting in a wider beneficial in the sense that we fullyunderstand and grasp the attributes and spiritual connotations of traditional Chineseand Western music culture.
