| Labor migration to the South Korea started in1980s. Immigration history in Korea is shorter than that in Europe, especially Muslim immigration history is more shorter. With the development of IT industry of Korea and the influence of Korean culture to the world, the position of Korea has been enhanced. Therefore, Korea attracted more labor staffs and students of Islamic world. Korea already entered into the multi-ethnic, multicultural society. Since the Three Kingdoms era, Korea has always been a homogeneous nation, and never experienced a multiracial society. So this kind of tendency is a great challenge to Korean society. Muslim in Korea gave Korean a negative impression of them, so Koreans also have prejudice against them, and often neglected them. Korean Muslim should more actively integrate into South Korean society by adapting proper cultural translation. Korean Muslim is lack of core strength and motivation for the social organization. They have to overcome the conflict in values and culture, and organize Muslim society. The reality and the issue that they face are very complex, but they will get social recognition and also realize their identity as Korean. Eventually, they will be able to make a contribution in the multicultural society of Korea. |
