Chinese homophones are important part of modern Chinese,because of thecomplicated relations between their pronunciations and meanings even nativespeakers may make mistakes when use Chinese homophones, so it is much moredifficult for foreigners to learn them.Therefore,a study of Chinese homophoesteaching is necessary.Present studies on Chinese homophones mainly concentrate onhomophones themselves,they could not combine homophones with teaching Chineseas a foreign language together.On basis of this situation,this thesis uses four chaptersto conduct detailed study on Chinese homophones teaching for foreigners.The first chapter states studying methods,contents and goals of the thesis tryingto achieve on basis of investigation and corprus analysis.This thesis links Chinesehomophones research to teaching Chinese as a foreign language in order to findproblems that exist in Chinese homophones teaching and look for solutions to helpforeigners learn Chinese homophones better.The second chapter firstly counts the number of homophones in ChineseProficiency Vocabulary and Grade Outline of Chinese Characters and six serialtextbooks,such as BoYa Chinese, Developing Chinese etc.Then comparison betweenChinese Proficiency Vocabulary and Grade Outline of Chinese Characters andtextbooks is made to analyse the differences in homophones chosen between thesetwo materials.The third chapter is designed to find out problems exist both in Chinesehomophones teaching and learning fields by making investigations for teachers andforeigners.The forth chapter proposes some teaching principles and methods for Chinesehomophones teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In writer’sopinion,communicative methods,net knitting methods and card methods should beused under principles of three dimensional,anti-matthew effect and connection inChinese homophones teaching for foreigners.The final chapter makes a conclusion of the whole thesis.
