The Study Of Personality And Thinking Style Influence On Critical Thinking Disposition

Critical thinking ability is one of the big five skills of social citizen. The level of critical thinking disposition react the independence of mind, especially important for students correct recognition and processing of information. The main purpose of this research was to explore the influence factors of postgraduates’ critical thinking disposition by questionnaire, and emphasized on analyzing the influence of personality、thinking style on critical thinking. The370samples of four universities’ postgraduate from Shanghai、Beijing and Guangzhou, responded to the California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory test、Cross-cultural「Chinese」 Personality Assessment Inventory Ⅱ (short version)、Thinking Styles Inventory. Results showed that postgraduates had better level of critical thinking disposition (M>280); Often involved in extracurricular activities, long-term professional learning, studied in free teaching style will promote the development of critical thinking disposition in different degrees; Critical thinking disposition had on sex difference; There were significant correlation between personality、thinking style and critical thinking disposition; Ten kinds of thinking styles had partial Mediating effect on part of or all of personality traits influence on critical thinking disposition,except Conservative、 Monarchic and Oligarchic. Moreover, based on the results of data analysis, training of critical thinking was discussed, to provide some evidence for educators and psychologists making the theoretical and Empirical Study about critical thinking.
