The Research On The Narrative Of The Poetry In The Early Yuan Dynasty

This article take the early Yuan Dynasty poetry as the research object and analyze its narrative characteristic. The first part mainly studies the narrative content of early Yuan Dynasty poetry. Important changes occurred in various fields of society in the early Yuan Dynasty, which provides rich themes for narrating in poems of the early Yuan Dynasty. In the early Yuan Dynasty, the narrative contents of the poems are rich and wide, they conclude the rising and falling of the country,the common people life and so on. Specifically, there are five aspects which are written most. The first one is the analysis of the war, the second is the subjugation of historical writing, the third is reflecting of people’s livelihood, the fourth is records of leisure life, the fifth is records of foreign information.The second part analyse the narrative features of the early Yuan Dynasty poetry. The early Yuan Dynasty poems reflect some characteristics different from the previous generation in the narrative, they mainly display in four aspects. The first character is that the narrative function of titles and prefaces of the poetries enhance, in the early Yuan Dynasty, titles and prefaces of the poetries are given more narrative function and manifest more distinctive narrative color; the second character is that the narrative contents of the poems are real and the broad, the things written in the poems are mostly true, and the narrative scope is wider; the third character is that the scene descriptions are vivid and full, the scene descriptions also reflect the writers attention to the whole process of the events; the fourth character is that the languages used in the poems are popular, there are less literary quations and the poems are easy to understand, they reflect the character of popular and colloquial.The third part is to explore the reason of narrating in the early Yuan Dynasty poetry. To see from the literary tradition, although Chinese ancient poetry uaually focous on impressing emotion, in each period there are many poetries which has strong narrative color, Yuan Dynasty poetries express the narrative characteristic, it is the result of the natural development of poetry. With the Mongolia army south and the unification of Yuan Dynasty,Mongolian narrative tradition of being good at singing and dancing gradually infiltrated into the poetry creation in the Yuan Dynasty,so the narrative feature in poetry increased. The narrative literature occupy the mainstream position in the literature of Yuan Dynasty,the colorful narrative literature impact the poetry in the same period. In addition, the exchanging in the different culturals, the relaxed ideological and cultural environment and the policy of abolishing imperial examination also produce certain influence on the narrative characteristic of the early Yuan Dynasty poetry.
