Since twenty-first Century, the discuss and research on the cultural ecology by Chinese scholars have gradually increased. Especially since2007, with ten national experimental areas of the cultural ecology protection having established in succession, more and more people have realized that as same as the nature, culture also has a large and complex ecosystem. And each type of culture is rooted in the specific ecological soil, which is a composing factor of the ecological system and plays an important role in "domino". Based on these ideas and principles, some districts have carried out the overall protection of traditional cultures. The national experimental areas of the cultural ecology protection are typical examples. Folk culture is a cultural type created by common people in daily life, which shows people’s life and living wisdom, has important meaning of life and value of ecology.The full text can be divided into five parts:The introduction summarized the significance of the topic, domestic and foreign research review, research object and methods and the main concepts. It’s the background support and research foundation. The first chapter is the outside ecological environment of folk cultural formation and development of ancient villages and towns in Fen River basin. Both the "natural field" and "social field" of ancient villages and towns in Fen River Basin constitute the external ecological environment of the folk cultural formation and development. Through the introduction and theoretical analysis of the "two field", the chapter aims to show the natural and social conditions based by the folk culture of ancient villages and towns, and the association and interaction between the folk culture and external environment. The second chapter is the ecological net:the internal structure of the folk culture of ancient villages and towns in Fen River Basin. The internal structure of "folk culture field" is complex, and it includes folk culture and people the two basic elements, namely the folk noumenon and subject. Through the research on "gold tower of folk noumenon" and "the ecological chain of the folk subject", this chapter theoretically reveals the internal structure of folk culture of the ancient villages and towns in Fen River Basin. The third chapter is the value and status of folk ecological resources of ancient towns and villages in the Fen River. Using the classification of cultural ecological resources by other scholars, this chapter classifies the folk ecological resources, and focus on the analysis of the ecological situation and potential value of the intangible cultural heritage and special folk ecological resources in ancient villages and towns. The fourth chapter is comprehensive evaluation and protection of the folk cultural ecology of ancient villages and towns in the Fen River Basin. Reference to the theory of evaluation and methodology, this chapter initially establishes the folk cultural ecological assessment system, chooses the representative ancient village as an example, comprehensively scores the situation of folk culture ecology, and finally put forward the corresponding principle and strategy of protection according to the evaluation results.These historical and cultural villages and towns have abundant folk cultural resources. The research of folk cultural ecology of the ancient villages and towns can help for the total protection and ecological balance of the folk culture. The paper regards folk cultural ecology of ancient villages and towns in Fen River as the objective, this paper researches from four angles:external environment, internal ecological structure, ecological resources and comprehensive evaluation. The purpose of this research is not only the academic innovation and exploration, but also to provide a theoretical reference for the benign operation of folk cultural ecology of the ancient villages and towns.
