From Daoist Holy Shrine To Tourist Attraction:the Local Community In Longhushan From The Song Dynasty To The Qing Dynasty

Longhushan is the cradle of the Heavenly Master Faction of the Zhengyi Daoism.Since the last years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Zhangsheng, the fourth generation of the Zhang Heavenly Master, removed from Hanzhong to Longhushan, and the Zhang Heavenly Masters of all previous dynasties lived and inherited here with a history of more than one thousand years to the late Qing. The Heavenly Master Daoism carried forward and influence throughout the country. With the development of the Heavenly Master Daoism, many Daoist buildings have been built. Especially, Longhushan has become "Daoist association","gods’ residence" and "the place of gods’accepting position", after the name of "the Shangqing Palace" given. Later the Daoist atmosphere around Longhushan is more and more strong, and the Longhushan district became the center of Daoism gradually. The Shangqing Town, a Daoist ancient town, emerged gradually, and the formation and development of the town benefited from the strong influence of the Daoism, however, it is not entirely dependent on the factors of Daoism. Throughout the development course of Shangqing Town, its origin also benefited from the construction of the Xiongshi Military Town and the regional development in the Shangqing River. Following the development of the local, the town eventually formed. With the region became the center of Daoism and the town formed, the influence of Shangqing Town was also growing, and more and more people were attracted into this area, at the same time the construction and renovation of travelling facilities, it further contributed to the formation of the resort.
