XueXingBiao Oil Painting Art Studies

Xue XingBiao, was born in Fuqing, Fujian in Aug.1944. He is the greatest representative and influential oil painting artist in contemporary oil painting filed of Fujian. He was graduated from art department of Fujian Normal University in1965, and then graduated from class for advanced studies of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (China Academy of Art now) in1979. In the late1970s, he studied the theory of painting of China and explored the enjoyable oil painting, then in1980, he went to Yunnan and Minjiang river to reduce to practice, and published paper<The discussion of enjoyability of the oil painting> in1988. In1990, he went to the northwest of China over hundred days to feel the Chinese ancient civilization and traditional art. In1995-1996, he was invited to the Nagoya University of Arts in Japan for visiting researcher and academic research, in the mean time, he was tried to the creation of "Abstraction of the Image Range", probed the beauty of meaning,"writing, rhyme, pneuma, and circumstance" in enjoyable oil painting. Subsequently, he had visited several Europe countries and the United States, and learn about the western contemporary art. He devoted himself to the exploration and development of the artistic form and painting language when he came back, and seek the fusion of the traditional concept and modern consciousness.He successively held the posts of the director and professor in Fujian Normal University fine arts department, visiting researcher in Nagoya University of Arts in Japan, the executive vice-president of the fine art institute of Fujian, the vice-president of the judging panel of senior position of fine arts of Fujian, the vice-chairman of Fujian Fine Art Association. His oil paintings have been selected in successively to the5th,6th,7th,8th,9th,10th national fine art exhibition, the1th,3th Chinese oil painting exhibition, the first term of the Chinese oil painting exhibition. He was award for excellent works in the eighth National Fine Arts Exhibition. Invited to the International Fine Art Expositions in Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany, and held his one-man exhibition in Japan, American, and Germany. He had published four albums, and his works have been widely collected.In his artistic career of almost fifty years, Xue XingBiao always persist the attitude of open-minded in learning and careful study. From the realistic painting to the enjoyable painting, he always persist the exploration of deep-seated and strong opinions about arts for the oil painting. As a painter, his productive life and the experiment of arts, immeasurable artistic achievement in the future, his long-term persistance about the oil painting and constant innovation and artistic ideas, they are very worth learning for us. In this paper, we mainly make a systemic and deep research on his development history and artistic style, it has important theoretical value and realistic significance.The research contents of this paper contains the following four parts:1. The lifetime and art history of Xue XingBiao.2. The work stages and the development, evolution, and formation of Xue XingBiao.3. The artistic characteristics and aesthetic features of Xue XingBiao’s oil paintings.4. The art feelings and art philosophies of Xue XingBiao’s oil paintings, and their real artistic value.
