China’s impressionistic character modeling art has a long history. The modeling concepts, modeling means, manifestations of China’s impressionistic character modeling art are Relatively stable and has Unique oriental art Features. It has a very different art style from Western art. From The beginning of the20th century, the evolvement of China’s impressionistic character modeling art faced with a very complex situation. Firstly, China’s impressionistic character modeling art is Bound to confront the limitation which bringed by modeling stylized tendency under the affection of the law of development of itself. Secondly, western art were influxing into china in the process of invasion by the Western countries. At the Result of the mighty impact of the mainstream of the times, Chinese figure painters were starting to think how to learn from the western arts to improve the China’s impressionistic character modeling art. They fused Chinese and Western art practice, and made China’s impressionistic character modeling art rebirth and started the modernization. Lastly, the complication and volatile of the political situation in the20th century added some bewildering colors on the development of China’s impressionistic character modeling art.
