Taiwan Society In The Eyes Of Mordern Westerners

In this paper, on the basis of wide-ranging and in-depth inspection of the literature of the Westerners, to sort out writings and related literature on modern Taiwan society. Integrated use of multidisciplinary theories and methods of historical research methods, comparative law and anthropology, oriental studies to explore modern Taiwan society morphology of the eyes of Westerners. This article is to explore the three aspects of the natural environment, Han society, minority modern social form in the eyes of Westerners. The article also constructed from the "other" theory of modern Western writing Taiwan Hegemony and analysis of the literature value of Westerners writings and related literature. Finally, this paper believes that controlled by the western discourse hegemony, the modern Taiwan society in the eyes of Westerners, appears on the whole is a social picture of poverty, backward, ignorant, savage.
