Wang Yun, style Zhongmou, named Qiujian, was born in Jixian county of Weizhou in YuanDynasty (now in Weihui city in Henan province) in1227and died in1304. He is a famous poetduring the time when Yuan Dynasty replaced the Jin Dynasty and an important official during thetime when Kublai Khan was in power.He learned from Yuan Haowen, Wang Pan, Yang Huan and Liu Qi in Chinese ancientliterature, learned confucianism from Yao Shu, learned the theory of history from Liu Deyuan andlearned the social governing from Zhou Hui. He inherited and spread the Jin Dynasty`s Literature.He served the emperor in Imperial Academy and Censorate for a long time. When he was inoffices, he mainly took on making lots of social rulers and served the emperor over30years inYuan Dynasty, having an great effect on the future. He served five terms as a imperial supervisor,was to be Hanlin three times and edited the book A biography of the first emperor of YuanDynasty. He has many famous works, for example The Great Works of Mr Qiujian which is animportant material for studying the history and literature of Yuan Dynasty.He has3important periods in his whole life. First, he perfected himself in study from theyear of1227to1259. Second, he was devoted himself to serve the government between1260and1302. The last period is that he quit his office and back to his hometown from1303or1304todeath. Over holding his post, he was quite successful. He ever took office in many places, such asHenan province, Hebei province, Shandong province, Fujian province, etc. In addition,Wang Yunever served as the Be Meeting Official of Dongping,the Recording Official of the Central Secretariat, the Details Given Official of the Central Secretariat, the Xiuzhuan of Hanlin, theCompilation Official of the National History Institute, the Dushi of the Central Secretariatbetween1260and1261; yet he was dismissed for Li Tan and Wang Wentong event, went backhome and read classics and history for fun from1262to1267; from1268on,he was in officeagain,serving the emperor as The Imperial Censor, Tixin Provincial Judge and Hanlin Degree tillthe year of1302.This chronicle biography tries to widely collect the date of Wang Yun`s life andexperience, his intercourse as well as his poem`s material according to his poetry anthology TheGreat Works of Mr Qiujian, his own Shinto monument, the history of Song Dynasty, the historyof Yuan Dynasty and the new history of Yuan Dynasty, some people`s poetry and anthologycolophons, local records. It is accurate and reliable in material.It is divided into four parts. The Preface part is mainly to introduce Wang Yun’s life, thesignificance and the status quo of the study.The Introduction part is mainly to define the principleand the form in which the article was edited. The Pedigree part is simply to introduce the familycircumstance and his closed relatives. The chronicle biography`s part is to introduce his life andexperience and then to research some relevant contents by explaining.
