Gao Qi's Chronicle Biography

Gao Qi ,style Jidi, was born in Suzhou city(in Jiangsu province)in 1336 and died in 1374 ."His elegance and talent exceeded his compeers."(Shisou Volume 1 Hu Yinglin Ming Dynasty. )"The observers regarded him as the most excellent poet in the early days of Ming Dynasty"(Oubei poetry story·Gao Qingqiu poetry Zhao Yi Qing Dynasty ).Chen Tian even said:"Jidi ,who was so talent and accomplished in every types of poetry ,should be regarded as Number 1 not only at one time,but also in the 300-year of Ming Dynasty(Ming poetry jishi volume 7) ."Zhang Shicheng occupied Wu,Gao Qi resided in Qingqiu on the bank of Wusongjiang with his father-law's.In the early day of Hongwu Dynasty,Gao Qi was recommended to compile Yuanshi,and then was confered GUOSHIBIANXIUGUAN of the Imperial Academy,later on ,Gao Qi was ordered to teach the princes.In the third year of Hongwu Dynasty, having promoted HUBUSHILANG, GaoQi resigned decidedly and was granted money to go home.Afer having returnied,GaoQi resided in Qingqiu again,feeding himself on teaching.Wei Guan ,ZHIFU of Suzhou,who moved Gao Qi's home in the city ,was delighted with each other ever and again.Wei Guan was punished because of his having refurbished government building.Afer having read Shangliangwen composed by Gao Qi, Zhu Yuanzhang, the impere, was pissed off and killed GaoQi,who was only 39 at that time.At the beginning of Ming Dynasty,there were a great number of poets inWuxia (Suzhou),Gao Qi,Yang Ji,Zhang Yu,Xu Ben were called"sijie","to match Wang Bo,Yang Jiong,Lu Zhaolin,Luo Binwang,who were four most distinguished poets early in Tang Dynasty.(the History of Ming Dynasty·Gao Qi's biography)"This chronicle biography tries to widely collect the data of Gao Qi's life and experience as well as related historical material, in order to sort out , verify and finally make a textual research of them .The main researches as follow:I. Basically sorting the chronology of Gao Qi's life and experience, and having made some explanations and proofreading about some non-detailed and ambivalent issues.II. Making some collection and verification on the intercourse of Gao Qi's, and others related experience of his friends as well.III.Making verification and then partly chronicle the list of Yuan's poems , essays etc.IV On the basic of above verifications, further exhibiting and reflecting epochalbackground related to Gao Qi's life and other related historical issues.V.Attaching importance to collecting and sorting out the related data so as to play a fundamental and data-availed role in Gao Qi's research.
