The Effrct Of Attention Level And Implementation Intention On Activity-based Prospective Memory

Prospective memory is a special kind of long-term memory，means the memory that complete somekind of intention to activities of memory in the future. Prospective memory depending on the start cluescan be divided three types:time-based prospective memory, event-based prospective memory andactivity-based prospective memory. Compared with retrospective memory, prospective memory is closerto our lives,the reality of this resrarch is more significant.But,the academic word does not have a unifiedconclusion for prospective memory processing mechanism. Especially, there are many different theoriesabout what role attention is in the process of prospective memory task. Automatic activation theory thinksthat there is no attention in the prospective memory task processing.This is a automaticprocessing.Strategy processing theory thinks prospective memory task processing is resourceful andactive.Many different attention system monitor prospectie memory task constantly in this processing.Andthere are some other mix theories. These studies are based on time and on event of prospective memory,hardly any about the activity-based prospective memory. The activity-based prospective memory isdifferent of time-based or event-based prospective memory.It does not need interrupt the ongoingtask,and need less attention.We will test the activity-based prospective memory task processing is affectedby the attention or not.Implementation intention is a strategy by the plan.It is a specific plans according to the specificsituation.It including when,where and how to complete the target intention. According to the previous totime-based and event-based prospective memory study show that, implementation intention increase theaccessibility of environment clues and the strength about “reaction-situation”,and promote to realize thegoal of prospective goal. This conclusion is suitable for Activity-based prospective memory or not.implementation intention.Implementation intention whether affect the influence divided attention toprospective memory.We also solve the problem in current study.We divided participants to focused attention and divided attention in experiment1.It discuss theinfluence attention level to activity-based prospective memory and ongoing task. Experiment2introducesimplementation intention as independent variable based on experiment1. Strengthen the strength of the prospective intention, discuss the influence attention level to prospective memory in based onimplementation intention. Compared with time-based and event-based prospective memory,we put forwardthe processing mechanism of activity-based prospective memory.The results of current study are as follows:1. Distraction task take attention resources,compete with attention assigned to the ongoing task,influence ongoing task performance. Concentrating on the background of the group task accuracy.Thecorrect rate of focused attention group on the ongoing task is higher than divided attention group’s correctrate.The reaction time of focused attention group on the ongoing task is shorter than divided attentiongroup’s reaction time.2. Implementation intention promote to realize the goal of prospective goal.Implementation intentionincrease the accessibility of environment clues and the strength about “reaction-situation”.The group ofimplementation intention’s correct rate of prospective memory is higher than The group of noimplementation intention’s correct rate.3. Implementation intention recede the influence of divided attention to activity-based prospectivememory’s correct rate. Under the condition of no implementation intention, The correct rate of focusedattention group on the prospective task is higher than divided attention group’s correct rate. Under thecondition of implementation intention, Two groups’ correct rate of prospective task is no different.4. Activity-based prospective memory retrieval process is automatic activation process.
