A Study On Chinese Independent Animation Role Modeling For Example LeiLei’s Animation

Independent animation is extremely stylized animated short cartoons and feature films which is to operate without commercial method from the beginning of the script writing. Moreover, it is the representation of the cartoonist’s inner self and personalized aesthetic practice as a system.It is an independent creative idea, which is a creation need to get rid of the impact of commercialization. Recently, the development of Chinese independent animation is booming, and the academics and supporters of independent animation made the greatest efforts. Therefore, Chinese independent animation is also awarded "International Animation Festival Award" in recent years. In addition to the independently logical thinking, the roles of these independent animation styles are very maverick and worth pondering.After the research topic is settled, data is collected, such as the independent animated short films and independent animation design. Combing the latest research status of independent animation, there is a need to expand the role of independent animation modeling research with innovative and in-depth guidance.This dissertation focuses on the Lei Lei’s short animated film as the main study object, and compared with the other independent animation directors’films. Moreover, with the animated screenshots and homemade form of role modeling analysis, the author explores the role modeling in independent animated films.The paper mainly describes the following four aspects of the role of independent animation modeling study. Firstly, chapter one is the related concepts and research with the combination of academia and the industry. Secondly, this chapter describes the significant meaning of character design for animation and even independent animation, with depth analysis of the role modeling the beauty of the basic principles and modeling methods as well as technical analysis. Thirdly, the chapter three focuses on several independent animations of Lei Lei and summarizes his role modeling elements. Finally, with the development of domestic independent animation, it leads the revelation of the domestic independent animation character design aspects in the future.Above these four chapters, the third chapter is the most significant one, which focuses on Lei Lei’s several award-winning films as a template for analysis.trying to discuss the character modeling language of Chinese independent animation and find out the unification of artistry, ideology and technique. Therefore, we can objectively and precisely analyze and summarize the state of development of Chinese independent animation, seeking the way to improve the ideology and specialty of animation art and make a great effort on Chinese independent animation.
