Based on the comprehensive analysis of previous studies, such as the officialreports, local historical files in the Kangxi Period, the paper outlines the rise and fallof Fan family in Jiexiu, Shanxi Province. It introduces the Fan business trade, rationswood, ginseng, fur, copper salt trade reflecting the Fan family in Jiexiu in the Qinggovernment support and press, which aims to discover the relationship between theFan’s family and the government of the Qing Dynasty.According to analysis the reason of the Fan family development, the paper drawsthe conclusion that the Fan family is an old-fashioned and feudal regime combinedprivileged businessmen with the support and protection in the feudal dynasty ofbusiness activities and achieved great economic interests, which also determines thevan’s family is with the rise and fall of the rise and fall of the Qing Dynasty. Beforethe Qing Dynasty, the Shanxi businessmen, which contains the Fan family, have acertain economic foundation in Mongolia, Liaodong area and also establish friendlytrade relationship with Jin Dynasty and obtained the trust. After1644, the Fan familyhas become the leader of the Shanxi eight businessman for the emperor. As the othereight family has little kids, only fan because delivery of rations for the Qing Dynastyget the strong support of the pacification in Junggar war, which greatly improves thevan’s family social economic status and makes it become prominent in the privilegedbusinessmen. Since then, with the political rights, the Fan runs luxury items andnational necessities, holding an important sector of the economy of Manchu regime,from Kangxi to the Qianlong period, reached the peak of the family. After the middleof Qianlong period, due to changes in policy and other reasons, the fan to declinegradually, eventually raid bankruptcy, also ended the brilliant history of the FanFamily.From the history of Fan family, we conclude that the causes of the decline ofprivileged businessmen. Except its own business reasons, privileged businessmeninsolvency, the end is due to the decline of the privilege system itself. Although theprivileged businessmen are endowed with many favorable operating conditions andprivilege, however, they enjoy the privilege at the same time, they must bear somespecial duty, which is an important object of the emperor and all levels of aristocrats and bureaucrats extract. In short, the commercial and privilege policy of the QingDynasty has the direction influence on the rise and f all of the Fan family.
