| Pearl S. Buck has won the Nobel Prize for Literature because of "The Good Earth" in1938. However, her success has brought its own honor and recognition at the same time,has also drawn criticism in many Western literati writers of her personal details and herworks. Pearl S. Buck’s "The Good Earth" is a literary work of the Chinese rural life andthe true epic description. Most of her works have written in the background of Chinese,and her writing is precisely embodies a blend of Eastern and Western cultures, promoteChinese and Western culture in particular.This thesis consists of an introduction, Research materials, research methods, bodyand conclusion, the body is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is to review the characteristics of the narrative perspective, theauthor combined use third person omniscient point of view and third-person limited pointperspective, from two features: the familiar perspective: Chinese farmers with the "eye"reproduction rural natural; the de familiarization perspective: the alienation of the "eye" ofthe Chinese farmers exotic culture.The second chapter is the reason of the narrative perspective, from two aspects: PearlS. Buck’s dual cultural identity and Pearl S. Buck’s intercultural communication strategies.This is also the focus and innovation of this thesis.The third chapter is about the significance of this narrative perspective. It is from therelationship between the narrator and the author and the reader; readers participated in thetext; Sino-US readers to realize the significance of Chinese and Western culturalexchange. |
