Aesthetic Research Of Li Zhi’s Childlike Innocence

Li Zhi(1527-1602), a famous thinker，philosopher, writer in late Ming dynasty, is theleader of Tai schools, and pursues independence and freedom. childlike innocence theory isthe core of his ideological system attaching much attention form Chinese and overseasscholars over the years. This essay is based on the ideological system of Li’s original work,combined with Predecessors’ exposition of his different thoughts. Meanwhile, the connotationof childlike innocence theory is also defined and explained. Starting from Li’s background,this essay further explored Li’s innocence and its effect on the later generation in order toanalyze the development of Taizhou Schools clearly and gain a profound understanding of Li’s great contribution in social conditions of that time. His major work, book burning，continuation of book burning, book collecting, Continuation of book collecting, are ourmain material to study his thoughts. A comprehensive and systematic research has been madeupon Li’s core philosophy-childlike innocence theory. The main structure of this essay is asfollows：Chapter1and2give a brief introduction of the writing context and the source ofchildlike innocence theory, as well as the whole background of Li. The writing context partsincludes the origin of thought for Confucius and Menci, and the social backgrounds ofhimself, and the growth environment of himself. The source of his thought includes theYangming’s philosophy, the thought of Buddhism, and so on. These are the great powers forLi Zhi’s thought. The connotation of childlike innocence theory is elaborated and the theoryof natural beauty is put forward as the core concept of childlike innocence theory. Chapter3starts from freedom of people advocated in childlike innocence theory, introducing from2perspectives, personality equality and personality freedom.
