Research On The Artistic Characteristics And Aesthetic Value Of Shadow In Tongbai, Henan Province

After thousands of years of historical heritage, Tongbai shadow puppet is still oneof the few remaining ancient folk art forms. However, in today’s society, due to theimpact of Chinese and Western cultures, Tongbai shadow puppet gradually faded frompublic view,and showed a decline trend. In response to the party and the country in the12th five-year plan called for "strengthening the importance of intangible culturalheritage protection, carry forward the fine traditional culture", this paper attempts toexplore the feasibility for the Tongbai shadow puppet intangible cultural inheritance anddevelopment mode.In this paper, the shadow puppet of tongbai region in Henan province, as theancient folk art, is the main study object. The main content of research in this thesis isartistic characteristics in modelling language and aesthetic value of Henan Tongbaishadow puppet. The aesthetic value of art in modeling, such as abstractness, flatness,freehand brushwork, symbolism, has been derived from t all aspects of the analysisabout design on dressing, hollowed-out work, five lines of color and so on.This paper tries to elaborate the Tongbai shadow puppets from the artisticdimension and aesthetic value of the angle, to analyze the arts styling features andperformance practices, so that people can understand it more deeply in the protection ofthe shadow art value, and select the best into the contemporary art, the perspective of amodern audience to re-examine and research, to create a new shape with the times, so asto promote this excellent traditional folk culture heritage and development.This paper uses field investigation, the comparison method, the study method ofsociology, literature research and case study methods for study. On the basis of predecessors study, tongbai shadow puppet is deeply analyzed and studied in view oftongbai shadow puppet of modern aesthetic demand, respectively from two aspects: thelongitudinal inheritance and horizontal spread of shadow puppet. Vertically, this papercombs and discusses the historical origin and development process of tongbai shadowpuppet and the survival background; horizontally, this paper analyzes and studies thetongbai shadow puppet art form, style and artistic characteristics.The tongbai shadow art form, cultural connotation, morphological characteristicsand aesthetic value are analyzed for the study of the subject to the Henan tongbaishadow puppets culture art features. In the result, this paper concludes that the Tongbaishadow puppet should be combined with modern social new technology, new culturalforms and the public easily accepted ways. It will produce a deeper cultural values andsocial significance to the inheritance and development of Tongbai shadow puppet.
